I haven't watched THE CLONE WARS yet, so it took me a while to comprehend what was happening in the story. This book aims for younger readers so the writing is very simple. Due to limited vocabulary and shorter story length, the descriptions weren't adequate enough to provide more details about characters' looks and personalities. The illustrations were lovely, though, which made up for the lack of in-depth, descriptive writing.
Despite the simple writing style, the story in general was still entertaining. The scenes involving R2D2 were especially intriguing. It was fun to see the adorable droid handle so many tasks at the same time (saving his master, calling for help, getting rid of a team of bounty hunters, beating scary monsters, arguing with another droid, etc.) without getting himself dismantled. Besides, scenes with R2D2 are always more fascinating. Who wouldn't love a witty, funny droid like R2?
